Mazda CX-9 got the Zoom Zoom down!

Are you in the market for a new vehicle or maybe planning a family vacation and need the perfect family car? Have you ever thought about a Mazda

Thanks to DriveShop, I had the pleasure of test driving their new Mazda CX-9 for a week in exchange for my honest opinion.

Mazda hasn’t been on my radar for awhile. Given I haven’t been behind the wheel of a Mazda since 98. When I was younger I owned a Mazda Protege.

Now I must say Mazda has come a long way since the 90’s, and they definitely did a fantastic job on there new 2018 designs. I was mesmerized with their sleek design, Napa Leather, Moon Roof, Third Row Seating, Commander Control setup, Sound system, Smart Brake Support, Blind Spot Monitoring, Lane Departure Sensors, and Highly impressed with the power the vehicle had.

Screen Shot 2018-04-14 at 12.40.24 AM

I often feel as though SUV’s often struggle when you have to step on the gas, especially when you’re at the stop light or even when you’re entering the freeway and you have sped up to the flow of traffic. I was personally was amazed by the power, given the size of the vehicle. It did not affect the speed and it was able to enter the flow of traffic without me having to step all the way on the gas pedal. Giving you more Power for your buck,  thanks to Skyactiv Technology!

SKYACTIV® TECHNOLOGY:  In every car Mazda makes, they focus on responsiveness and driving enjoyment, allowing the CX-9 to stand out from the competition with outstanding driving dynamics.

ROOM FOR ADVENTURE: The 50/50 split third row and 60/40 split second row give you plenty of ways to make room for all your cargo and passengers. Or fold both rows down flat for up to 71.2 cubic feet of storage. Looking to keep essential items close, but out of the way? Stow them in the hidden storage in the console, center armrests and glove box, along with seatback pockets and door-panel bins.

I was definitely happy with the 7-passenger SUV feature.  It had plenty of room for my family and even our guest. We needed the extra seats to pick up our guest, to attend the Monster Jam event.

Luckily The Mazda Cx-9 saved the day with their 3r-row seating. My Niece was having car issues and needed a ride for her and the kids. We heard no complaints on lack or room or discomfort.  The kids definitely enjoyed the seats and I loved the Napa Leather.

Even with its sleek low roofline, this stunning full-size SUV still offers more volume and more second- and third-row legroom than the Acura MDX or Toyota Highlander. Accessing the third row is simple, making it easy for kids to climb in—all without needing to remove an installed child seat.

Overall, I had a lot of fun driving the Mazda CX-9, it was definitely an SUV I could get used to driving on a daily basis.  Not only has Mazda proven to be a spectacular performance vehicle. It had a lot of safety features that could be beneficial to you and your loved ones. Here are a few impressive features.

  • Smart City Brake Support

When traveling at speeds between 2- 18 mph standard Smart City Brake support helps detect objects ahead and prepares your vehicle by adjusting brake pads closer to the disc. If no action is taken, the brakes are automatically applied.

  • Advanced Blind Spot Monitoring

Standard Advanced Blind Spot Monitoring helps detect objects in your blind spots and alerts you with a chime and warning light in the side mirror. It also detects and warns you of fast-approaching vehicles that may enter a blind spot.

  • Smart Brake Support

When traveling at speeds above 10 mph, available Smart Brake Support helps detect objects ahead an warns you when braking is immediately necessary. If no driver action is taken, the system automatically applies the brakes.

My Overall favorite feature that I would depend on and use all the time is the front sensors and the backup camera.  This feature is great for parking, you do not have to worry about backing up into something or someone. I also do not have to worry about running into the garage door when parking in the driveway.  This feature will definitely help anyone who has a hard time parking.

I highly recommend stopping by your local Mazda Dealers and test driving this wonderful SUV.

I Feel Pretty- Giveaway

I’m pretty excited about this new movie I Feel Pretty hitting theaters this April 20th.  I caught a glimpse of the trailers on Facebook and thought it looked great.  Amy Schumer character struggles with insecurity in the beginning and it all changes with unforeseen events.  Giving her insecurity a run for its money!  I couldn’t imagine a better way to do a Mommies night out with this flick!

An ordinary woman who struggles with feelings of insecurity and inadequacy on a daily basis wakes from a fall believing she is suddenly the most beautiful and capable woman on the planet. With this newfound confidence, she is empowered to live her life fearlessly and flawlessly, but what will happen when she realizes her appearance never changed?

The film stars Amy Schumer, Michelle Williams, Emily Ratajkowski, Rory Scovel, Aidy Bryant, Busy Philipps, Tom Hopper, Naomi Campbell, and Lauren Hutton.

How would you like to win a chance to see an advanced screening this April 4th? Comment below…

“I feel pretty _______!” and fill in the blank. By telling us What makes you feel Empowered? (I feel pretty strong, brave, loved, etc.)

Contest ends Sunday, April 1st and winners will be announced Monday, April 2nd. Good Luck!

A Quiet Place Giveaway

Have you seen the trailers for A Quiet Place? One scene, in particular, catches my interest. The Abbott family sits down for a silent family dinner, and they wordlessly hold hands and gesture to “say” grace before eating out of lettuce leaves with no utensils.

a-quiet-placeThis had me thinking If they don’t use forks and knives — or even speak more than a whisper —some kind of horrible monster would rush into their home and shred them all to pieces.

What would you do if you had to live in that nightmare?  This literally had me thinking about what would be a good recipe to eat in silence.

I thought this Creamy Avocado Tuna Sandwich (by: Give Recipe) would be perfect and it would keep you replenished for hours. The only utensil I would use is a manual can opener and boom.  Lunch is served.

2 oz Canned tuna

1 Avocado, ripe

1 Lemon
2 Lettuce, leaves
1 handful Parsley
 1 Salt
1 tsp Olive oil

directed by John Krasinski,

Paramount Pictures describes the film, “In the modern horror thriller A Quiet Place, a family of four must navigate their lives in silence after mysterious creatures that hunt by sound threatens their survival. If they hear you, they hunt you.”

A Quiet Place definitely looks like a Thriller with some very vivid scary moments you wouldn’t want to miss.  Where do these Aliens come from? How many are out there? How many other families are surviving in a world of silence? I just need to know if this family will survive this epidemic, considering his wife looks pregnant. What a nightmare!

emily-blunt-john-krasinski-a-quiet-place-sxsw-02 How would you like to win tickets for advanced movie screening before the movie is released in theaters April 6th?

We will be doing a Giveaway for Family 4-pack and a couple’s date night -2 seater for April 3rd

Comment below, What kind of silent food would you prepare?

Monster Jam was a hit!

Monster Jam 2018 was a phenomenal experience. This was my families first year attending.  I didn’t know what to expect. The only thing I ever really paid attention for Monster Jam was the toys. My son always wanted us to buy him some.  But I never knew it was an actual thing big show.  Some of the Monster Trucks competing were recognizable and so fascinating to see in person, I even found my son cheering the Gravedigger and George on.

The show had so many great elements, of freestyle and racing, that time just went by so fast. The best part of the show was definitely the finale.  They collaborated an awesome show with the new upcoming film Rampage and it was a spectacular 12 min show.

The crowd went crazy and it was definitely the highlight of the last day of Monster Jam.  We can’t wait to see what they’ll come up with for next year.

IMG_4512 Next year we will be more prepared. Since this was our first year attending, I had no idea how loud it was going to be.  My son had a hard time on Friday, due to his inability to tolerate loud noises. We weren’t able to stay for the whole show because of it.  But Saturday’s show we came prepared.  We went to Big 5 and purchased an inexpensive noise-canceling headset for only $15.00.  Which really made a difference for my son.

Although we didn’t want the show to end.  It was pretty awesome seeing all the Monster Trucks driving out one last time.  It was definitely exciting to seeing all the drivers and the crowds going wild.

Monster Jam coming your way! (Update)

My Disney on Ice experience

It’s that time again where you can follow your heart to the Thomas and Mack Center for Disney on Ice 2018. I had the opportunity to watch the spectacular show with my family opening night.   This year the show was just as amazing as last year.  The 2018 production added some new characters to this year’s line up and kept some classic ones for the kids and adults to enjoy.

Just keep swimming with Dory and new pal Hank from Disney•Pixar’s Finding Dory as they set out to find her parents.

Cheer with the Emotions from Disney•Pixar’s Inside Out.

Venture to wintery Arendelle where Olaf and Kristoff help reunite Anna and Elsa and learn love is the most powerful magic of all.

See the Disney Princesses achieve their dreams through bravery, kindness, and perseverance.

Celebrate true friendship with The Toy Story gang.

I personally love how they still include those classic’s Disney characters and songs, that I once enjoyed when I was a little kid.  Which will make for a perfect movie night with my son. I was a little bummed that Moana did not make it to this years to the show.  I am crossing fingers that it will make it to next years line up.  I think it would make the show even more spectacular.

IMG_1982My son was so thrilled to see the gang from Toystory and hear his favorite songs. Even though it got a bit loud for him at times, he still had a blast.  I will have to remember to bring some headphones to help reduce the noise.

Overall the show was fantastic the music, songs, lights, and ice skaters made the show unforgettable.  Seeing the kids dancing and singing along was inspired my little one to let loose and have some fun.  We definitely cannot wait until next years show.
